My motorbiking days are many years past, but we hooned even if we didn't call it that. Now, your use of the word permits me a small private smile of malice each time I hear the honourable(?) Member for Ashfield and Brownose (and FCO Minister) mentioned.

My motorcycling days lasted for very many years, but, alas, now long past too. However, I must say that in all those years I never heard the verb 'to hoon'. Perhaps because the vanilla ACU affiliated club riding/competing I did is a far cry from the biker gang scene.

However, for reasons obvious to anyone knowing the member for Ashfield's (which may well include Gaby/Drew's home town of Church Warsop) full name, I object to your malicious smile.

Church Warsop is in the Bassetlaw constituency, separated from the Ashfield constituency by Mansfield. (Market Warsop, Meden Vale and Cuckney are all also in Bassetlaw)

... but not the details of the constituency boundaries (none of them are mine :) - quite). IIRC Mr Hoon was an MEP at one time and the boundaries are rather wider. We now suffer that clown Robert Kilroy-Silk who seems to have gone very quiet in the last few years :o)
